London, UK and Lahti, Finland, 13th September 2011 - ProImage has today announced that Esan Kirjapaino Oy, which owns newspapers, printing and distribution companies in Finland, as well as a local radio station, has implemented ProImage OnColor and OnColor ECO software to increase efficiency.
The software ensures that its approximately 2,000 PDF page files per month are correct before being sent to the RIPS and plate-making. In addition the software automates any correction necessary for display advertising files prior to production - saving time and potential costly error. “It carries out these functions extremely rapidly,” says Antti Santala, Advertising Production Manager, Esan Kirjapaino Oy.
In addition, OnColor ECO ink optimization software automatically reduces the group’s ink consumption and cost while maintaining the highest possible print quality. It automatically converts pages containing both pixel and vector data to the right color space while preserving the original color appearance. It also reduces rub-off and set-off - and the company’s carbon footprint.
The paid newspapers published by Esan Kirjapaino Oy include the daily Etelä-Suomen Sanomat and the Monday to Saturday Itä-Häme. Its free papers include Uusi Lahti, Seutu4 (a group of four papers) and Mäntsälän Uutiset.
Antti Santala added, “the (ProImage) software is easy to use, and the ink cost saving provided by OnColor ECO has also been important for us in our effort to reduce production costs while maintaining the high quality demanded by our advertisers.”
ProImage OnColor image processing software, and OnColor ECO ink optimization software was supplied and installed by THT-image Limited, ProImage’s partner in Finland. THT specializes in digital image processing, workflow and archiving solutions.
