F.A.Z. – high recognition effect in the web

The new Internet presence of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.) closely approximates the appearance of the printed newspaper.

For its web presentation, the newspaper draws on the system it uses to preselect and organise contents on the printed newspaper page and to which the readers have become accustomed over decades. The F.A.Z. writes the following in an article on this subject: "As on a newspaper page, several items are presented side-by-side in the new, wider display. The reader sees at a glance what is important and finds directly the relevant articles or comments, readers' opinions or video accompanying the topic concerned."

The F.A.Z. has had a presence in the Internet for more than ten years, with continually growing numbers of readers. It claims to attract 23.5 million visits and reach 3.5 millionen unique users per month in the Internet. In 2010, the turnover of the FAZ.NET Internet portal is reported to have increased by more than one-fifth.
