04.10.11 - New ProImage Ltd. (www.new-proimage.com) has today announced that it will be showcasing four important new cost-saving products during Ifra Expo, Vienna.

These are new versions of NewsWay, the newspaper industry’s leading workflow automation and control system; NewsWay Press Register, a unique software solution that significantly improves press registration; OnColor ECO, the popular ink optimization solution; and Xtent Media, a new browser-based multi-publishing platform provided under a cost-effective SaaS (software as a service) offering.

“We have a leading global position for our newspaper workflow management as well as our ink optimization technology," says Izzet Edige, general manager EMEA, New ProImage.  "We have now added time-saving solutions for perfecting registration as well as cost-effective cross-media content management and production for smaller newspaper and magazine publishers”

New features of NewsWay to be shown for the first time at Ifra Expo include an upload portal that enables printers to provide a tool for their customers to upload files directly into the planned edition. It also now provides image analysis that enables, for example, last minutes changes to be quickly verified. “Such significant new features ensure that NewsWay remains the industry’s most comprehensive end-to-end workflow management and system integration tool,” states Izzet Edige.

Press Register overcomes the costly problems caused by press mechanical misalignment and by paper stretch - FanOut or Web Growth – created by the ink and water applied to paper that is under tension and moving at high speed. Press Register makes it possible to resize, rotate, mirror and shift the Tiff separations at precise increments to more effectively compensate for known press mis-registration issues. The result is perfect registration without the time needed to adjust the press.

OnColor ECO automatically reduces ink consumption on offset presses while maintaining the highest possible print quality. Proven to save up to 30% of ink cost, new features to be shown at Ifra Expo provide increased automation, an XML interface that enables third-party applications to take control of OnColor ECO thus providing seamless integration; additional image processing functions such as sharpening and artefact removal; and intelligence to eliminate overprint issues - to provide even greater ink savings.

Xtent Media provides workflow management, reporting and control for Adobe® InDesign users – whether for online, mobile or print output - in a completely collaborative environment. It holds all digital assets and includes all the tools necessary for multi-platform publishing in one comprehensive and flexible SaaS package.
