In January this year Hong Kong Economic Times signed a contract for the delivery of one new press line comprising 8 full colour D390 towers and 1 folder as well as 2 full colour D390 towers as an extension to the existing D380 press.
In April 2011 //wifag acquired Solna AB and Ekpac Graphics Ltd, both as leading Swedish supplier and agent of high speed single wide presses for newspapers and books. The organizational integration of Solna/Ekpac into //wifag is progressing successfully and the //wifag assembly crew in Fribourg is enthusiastic about the task at hand of assembling this high performance single width press. The first components for the leading financial daily in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Economical Times have already arrived at the wifag//polytype factory in Fribourg, Switzerland.
This order will be the first assembled by Swedish and Swiss engineers and installed by wifag//Polytype China (Ekpac Graphics) Hong Kong engineers for our faithful customer in Hong Kong.
With the new press and this additional order, HKET extends its existing printing fleet with a whole new D390 press line, consisting of twelve 4-high towers and one folder.
After installation of these recently ordered printing units, HKET will, together with existing Solna presses, have a total of 212 printing units running, largest Solna customer in the world.
The signing will take place at the //wifag booth B180 from 17h on Tuesday 11.10.2011.
