Occupy protest movement produces its own newspaper

Article ID:

14080

The first issue of The Occupied Times of London was published on 26th October 2011 with a page count of 12 monochrome pages.

The newspaper (available also in an E-Paper edition) was produced in a print run of 2000 copies and distributed to the protesters in front of St. Paul’s Cathedral as well as to passers-by in the City. Its content comprised opinions and information concerning the protest movement that is targetting the finance industry. The final page, bearing the slogan "Here To Stay", was designed in such a way that it can be used as a poster. A second issue is reported to be at the preparation stage.

The first issue of the newspaper was framed and, the activists hope, will find its place in the Museum of London.

The website of the protesters' newspaper (still) has very little content: http://theoccupiedtimes.com/
