Freedom Center equips 10 press lines with colour control systems

Chicago Tribune’s Freedom Center, one of the largest newspaper printing centres in North America, will equip 10 printing lines with a total of 52 towers with colour and register control systems with the intention to achieve consistent high colour quality, reduce waste and cost.

The production plant in Chicago produces major newspaper titles, including Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, New York Times and more than 20 other titles with a combined print run of 2,850,000 copies per day. QuadTech will install their colour control and web inspection system with AccuCam as well as their register control system with MultiCam on Manroland Colorman and Goss Metrocolor presses.
