According to the organisers, on the first seven days of the exhibition some 170,000 visitors from 115 countries entered the exhibition halls of the Düsseldorf exhibition grounds; this corresponds to a drop of about 20 percent compared to the half-way mark at drupa 2008.

"The far-reaching structural change in the printing and media industries in Europe and North America meant that we had to expect this drop in the number of visitors", says Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, chairman of the management board of the Messe Düsseldorf. The share of international visitors is given as 65 percent.

The atmosphere is described as positive and many business deals are reported to have been made.
