Two global players of the printing industry - Heidelberg and Fujifilm - have announced to join forces in inkjet printing where they will concentrate on the commercial and packaging markets.

As a benefit of the partnership Heidelberg expects to gain access to Fujifilm's market-leading inkjet technology, and Fujifilm hopes to leverage Heidelberg's strengths in engineering and manufacturing. The partners want to benefit from synergies in sales and global customer service.

According to Heidelberg, both companies focus their portfolios on market segments with the greatest potential for profitability and growth. The alliance is aimed at establishing a platform to drive new business in future-oriented markets.
