The contract has been signed in June 2015 and the installation will already be finished in December 2015. The six GEOMAN presslines at Thairath have been installed in 1995 and have been upgraded to state-of-the-art from 2008 to 2010. The dimensions of the presslines are impressing: Thailand’s biggest daily newspaper is printed on 24 printing towers, with 36 reel splicers and 6 folders.
Latest Technology Avoids Shut-Downs and Shows New Perspectives
The lately ordered comprehensive upgrade consists of different packages for the PECOM control system, including a modern operating surface and control desk computers, touch screens and consoles, the PECOM Press Manager Server (PPM) including a Hot-Stand-By-Backup-Server, which, in case of errors, immediately takes over from PPM, and Press Monitor 2. This also guarantees highest production security.
Press Monitor 2 – The Long-Term-Memory for Your Press
The production is controlled and analyzed by the Press Monitor 2, which also provides master data for process optimization, the basis of the economical success of a printing house. With the Press Monitor 2, which is connected to the pre-press, the press and the post-press, the printer is able to monitor the current status of the production process at every time. As a central database, the Press Monitor 2 saves and reports all relevant production data. Due to this, reports can be created easily, what enables an ideal control of the operational workflow and the processes.
SoftProof-System – For a Perfect Illustration and a Fast Coordination
The proof system from manroland web systems provides content-binding proofs directly to the control desk of the GEOMAN. This enables an efficient production and highest printing quality and significantly reduces waste rates.
