Among the industry-leading solutions to be featured on the QuadTech stand are ones that are already delivering quality color, ink and waste savings, and improved press performance to printers around the world.
The QuadTech® Color Control and Web Inspection System with AccuCam™ is an image-based color control system designed to meet the needs of newspaper and commercial printers. A closed-loop system, it automatically adjusts ink key settings to ensure consistent color. For newspaper printers, the system has a water control capability that measures and adjusts press dampening levels, reducing paper waste and ink usage.
The QuadTech Register Guidance System with MultiCam® is a closed-loop color-to-color register control that enables printers to achieve good copy quickly, reducing start-up waste. For newspaper printing, an automatic fan-out control automatically ensures lateral registration across the width of the web.
QuadTech’s Ribbon Control System with MultiCam is a print-to-cut and print-to-fold registration system that minimizes make-ready waste. The technology utilizes cutoff compensators and sidelay compensators to minimize error. It can be integrated easily with other equipment like folders, rotary cutters and UV coaters.
The QuadTech Digital Ink System offers enhanced image quality with precise accuracy, better control of ink density – at all speeds – and a reduction in ink usage. A computer-controlled ink injection system that replaces traditional open fountain ink trains, the Digital Ink System can be used to upgrade existing “pump and rail” systems and give old presses a new life.
QuadTech Data Central® Reporting is a central hub for production data that displays, manages and stores print run information. It can be used to generate reports and graphics that enable data from one or more print run to be studied and correlated, to enable informed decisions. Color, registration and cutoff data can be presented and used in a variety of ways—from evaluating press performance to supplying statistical evidence when addressing a customer complaint. Reports can be viewed on a press-side ICON™ user interface, or remotely on a desktop or tablet.
“In a dynamic newspaper market like India’s, the demand for reliable print quality and accurate color by major advertisers and readers is very high,” said Hemant Desai, QuadTech General Manager for India. “When newspaper printers are also offering commercial products like inserts and magazines, the pressure to achieve these standards is even higher. That’s where QuadTech can make a huge difference with press controls that deliver the results advertisers and readers want, while also improving profit margins.”
