Even last week's print edition can prove useful in assisting young people -- and those not so young -- to adapt to a new country thanks to some NIE (News in Education) materials.

After stories about the latest influx of people fleeing into Europe leave the front page and first response actions make way for long-term solutions, some news in education strategies offer cheap and effective ways to help the newcomers assimilate to their adopted lands, wherever those lands may be.

WAN-IFRA is offering a first set of activities based on a project we did awhile back with Avis i Skolen in Norway, one of our centers of Youth Engagement Excellence, with the help of Norske Skog, the global paper producer.

We suggest you download, use and adapt them and BE SURE to let us know the even better methods you develop to share with the world.

When you download the materials, we'll ask who you are and how to reach you so we can keep you informed about what others do.
