The Augsburg based company introduces its strategic roadmap and its new COO Franz Kriechbaum in Berlin

November 15, 2017 – The IFRA World Publishing Expo (WPE) in Berlin (10th – 12th Oct. 2017) was an all-round success for manroland web systems. The web offset market leader showcased the power of its e:line newspaper printing systems, future oriented business models in the service sector and its new member of management, Franz Kriechbaum.

COO Franz Kriechbaum is a new member of the executive board at manroland web systems © manroland web systems.

Franz Kriechbaum assumed his new position as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at manroland web systems in May 2017. The 41-year-old graduate engineer is responsible for construction, supply chain, service & assembly, project management and quality and technology. With his long-time experience in the development and implementation of operative strategies, Kreichbaum has a perspective for the whole value chain. His prior work as production engineer at the Munich based aircraft engine manufacturer MTU provided him with the required practical background. The native Bavarian completes the executive board of CEO Alexander Wassermann.

The e:line series convinces
Wassermann highlighted the continuously high commitment of the company in newspaper printing. “The high-performing business partner” is how manroland web systems expresses its self-conception. In practice, this means: “We are unconditionally at our customers service. Both in the new machine sector, as well as the service area.” In newspaper printing, the highly automated e:line series maintains its flagship position. A GEOMAN e:line, which will replace two competitor presses, will be delivered to Vorländer (“Siegener Zeitung” newspaper) by the end of the year. In addition, Graz based Styria Druck AG has ordered a COLORMAN e:line. For its St. Veit site, the Austrian printing giant furthermore signed a comprehensive service contract for 10 years with manroland web systems.

Future-oriented service products
With long-term service level agreements like the ones with Styria, the performance of the existing press can be secured for a long time. The manroland web systems service program is based on three pillars, which were in high demand at the trade fair: solutions, support and store. Prominent examples of the solution service orders include two PECOM-X retrofits with a controls replacement on GOSS presses at two US print houses. With this multi-brand web press service, manroland web systems proves its broadly diversified competence as a high-performance business partner for the complete industry.
