Eduardo Pellanda is a professor and researcher at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). He has a master's and doctorate in Media Communications from PUCRS, and he has twice (2008 and 2013) been a post doctorate and visiting scholar at the MIT Mobile Experience Lab in Cambridge, USA.

The main focus of his work on the Ubilab is to develop strategies and products for the newspaper's future. For this, he works together with Grupo RBS. Both the company and the lab are located at the TecnoPUC, a technological park inside the university campus. 

He also has been involved in research for organisations such as HP, AG2 Publicis Modem, Bradesco, Eni and Unicef.
