Keynote speakers:
John Paton, CEO, Journal Register Company, USA
Paton will deliver the opening keynote presentation at the 10th anniversary of the NRS. The Journal Register Company has been through an amazing journey during the past few years. The company that was written off for dead in 2009, recently brought in $41m in profit. Do not miss this presentation where Paton will talk about how he turned this tired, old broken company into an innovative, forward-thinking publishing house.
Hear Paton talking about the JRC's "digital first" strategy
Gerd Leonhard, Media futurist and CEO,
The Futures Agency, Switzerland
Futurist Gerd Leonhard shares his foresights for the next 2-5 years, shows examples from a global perspective, and points out the bottom lines for the future of news and "content." So what's next? Data is the new oil. It's no longer about social media but the new social OS (operating system) and the new digital content ecosystem. And content expert-ship and curation will be more crucial than ever before, and yes, it will make serious money.
