Aine McGuire started her computer career selling Hewlett Packard systems into the financial services market in the City of London.  She established her own business in the 90’s and was the first Microsoft Gold Partner accredited in the UK.  In 2010, she helped co-found ScraperWiki, a technology platform for liberating data.  In the same year she created a hacks/hackers programme for ScraperWiki and ran 12 events across the UK & Ireland. These brought journalists and software coders together to help encourage the adoption of data driven journalism.  In 2012 and with a similar objective, ScraperWiki hosted a series of 'Journalism Data Camps' across the US, including events at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism, Columbia University and at The Washington Post .  She spends her time developing relations within media and with other industry partners to establish ScraperWiki as a thought leader in data science for the sector. ScraperWiki was a 2011 Knight News Challenge Winner.  Aine has a business degree from Trinity College Dublin.
