Under Sachin’s, in December 2013, mid-day climbed to No 7 in the Indian Readership Survey rankings for newspapers, breaking into the top 10 for the first time in its 34-year history. A journalist for two decades, Sachin has been associated with some of India's top newspapers, magazines and radio stations. Sachin began his career at mid-day as a trainee in 1994 where he rose to content head of the paper’s online edition in 1999. Since then, most of his work has been in newsroom leadership positions. He has been part of the launch and relaunch of websites, newspapers and magazines. He had a brief stint in DNA daily, as their first Washington Correspondent during the tumultuous, yet exciting period between 2005 and 2007 when the US-India nuclear deal was being negotiated and ultimately signed. He broke several influential stories on the nuclear deal, and contributed to reputed periodicals in Washington, including the online magazine, World Politics Review. Apart from being a journalist, Sachin is also a photographer and a quizzer.
