Samuli Leivonniemi, 32, is a journalist working at the Finland's largest newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. In addition to his daily work as a news editor Leivonniemi has been involved in a numerous development projects: A metered paywall was introduced on HS.fi website in November 2012. Television news broadcasts started in December 2012. The printed newspaper adapted tabloid format in Janurary 2013. In the newsroom a lot of effort has been put to improve the internal workflows such as news planning and multi-channel publishing.
Leivonniemi has studied information technology, usability research and journalism.
