Introduction
The aim of this workshop is to prepare news photographers and photo editors for many of the challenges they face in modern-day photojournalism. Participants will learn how to improve their pitches and be better prepared for news, feature and sports assignments. They will also gain valuable photo editing skills and tips on editing on deadline. View the photographs and use them to tell a story.
Programe Outline
- Fundamentals of the trade – knowing your equipment and its limitations
- Approaching assignments/stories – preparation, ideas, pitching
(These will cover news, feature, sport and portraits photography)
- Shooting theory and practical skills- developing the skill of seeing/
- observation to be able to capture moments
- Becoming better journalist/storyteller
- Editing picture story – deadline editing
- Importing – editing
- Feedback to grow – critique
- Becoming a better storyteller and next steps
