Schibsted, one of the worlds’ most successful media companies, will be presenting its unique and successful mobile monetization strategy at the upcoming Digital Media Latinoamérica conference, the region’s premier digital publishing event.

#DML14, to be held on 19 and 20 September next in Lima, Peru, will showcase some of the world’s most innovative and successful media leaders and digital strategists, including Jim Moroney, CEO and Publisher of The Dallas Morning News, Nathalie Malinarich, Editor of Video and New Platforms at BBC News Online in London, Leo Prieto, Founder of FayerWayer and Borja Echevarría, Vice President, Digital at Univisión News, amongst many others.

Kalle Jungkvist, Senior Adviser to the CEO of Schibsted Sweden and WAN-IFRA Senior Consultant, will be presenting the development of the Scandinavian group’s successful mobile monetization strategy and its key role in paid-content, classified and e-commerce. He’s also co-founder of Swedish daily Aftonbladet’s online version, Aftonbladet.se. This year, the newspaper, which is part of Schibsted, obtained more advertising revenue from mobile platforms than from print.

Borja Echevarría de la Gándara will tell us about his plans as Vice President of Digital at Univisión News, the US’ leading cable news channel in Spanish. The former Deputy Director at El País and elmundo.es, will share some of his insights from his 2013 Nieman Fellowship at Harvard, where studied how disruptive innovation is radically changing newsrooms and its workflows.

Leo Prieto, one of Latin America’s most renowned and award-winning web innovators and entrepreneurs, will present the keys behind the success of two of the most successful digital only platforms in the Spanish-speaking world, FayerWayer and Betazeta. With over 10 million users each month, BetaZeta is moving away from traditional advertisers towards sponsorships, which bring 40 per cent of his revenue, and content marketing, which brings 10 per cent of his revenue.

José Antonio Miró Quesada Ferreyros, Chairman of the Digital Business Committee at Grupo El Comercio in Peru. José Antonio will present the importance of audience and relevance in the overall strategy of one Latin America’s most important media groups.

Jim Moroney, CEO and Publisher of The Dallas Morning News, will explain the importance of innovation and resilience in today’s news publishing, and will share the keys to the success of digital businesses and start-ups, such as Speak-Easy and 508Digital, in the quest of digital revenue diversification.
