Summary
Information graphics, also called infographics, have become a major design element in newspapers, especially in the U.S.A. Increasing use is being made of them through the application of personal computers (PCs) with graphics capabilities. According to a recent survey, 80 percent of all U.S. newspapers with circulations of over 100,000 copies have PCs for generating infographics. This figure will rise to 95 percent by the end of the year.
