Fujifilm today announces that it is using its presence at IFRA Expo 2011 (Hall B Stand 140) to demonstrate how its impressive line-up of plate production and pressroom solutions can help newspaper printers optimise their offset print production. Using the latest Fujifilm technologies, newspaper printers can improve efficiencies, reduce costs, minimise their environmental impact, and improve operator safety – all critical issues in today’s newspaper production environments.

Thanks to the company’s successful ongoing partnership with Krause, Fujifilm is demonstrating the LS Performance platesetter, BlueFin LowChem processor and Brillia PRO-VN low-chemistry plate live on the stand. This combination today represents the leading newspaper plate production solution, as it features the industry’s lowest chemistry and water consumption figures, and requires lower processor maintenance.

The company is also highlighting its successful Brillia LH-NN2 thermal newspaper plate on the stand. Brillia LH-NN2 is a high sensitivity plate for extended laser and developer life, and has a wide exposure latitude. It also features Fujifilm’s patented MultiGrainTM technology for reduced ink usage and improved ink/water balance, and is ideally suited for high quality, high run length newspaper applications.

Fujifilm is also demonstrating how its pressroom solutions can help newspaper printers to operate more efficiently, reduce their environmental footprint and improve press operator safety. For example, the company’s S1 Series range of safety label free founts with low VOC content (<0,1 %) have a low foam tendency, fast start-up properties and require low dampening settings. The S1 Series is now being extended by the addition of low-VOC washes with excellent cleaning power.

“We are looking forward to a busy show this year and to the opportunity to demonstrate just how our benchmark newspaper solutions can help printers achieve the quality they need quickly and at the minimum cost,” says Ryuta Masui, senior vice president, FUJIFILM Europe GmbH. “We look forward to welcoming visitors to Fujifilm stand number 140 in Hall B.”
