World Printers Forum
The World Printers Forum (WPF) is an organisation of newspaper printers and suppliers within WAN-IFRA. Its objective is to encourage innovation and productivity as well as product development that can be instrumental for publishers to exploit future oriented news media products. It promotes the power of print and the sustainability of print production.

2016-07-06 13:3006.07.2016 – The takeover of Iberica AG S.A. in Spain by German press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) announced on 23 May 2016 is now complete with the signing of the purchase agreement by Officine Meccaniche G. Cerutti S.p.A. (OMGC) from Italy. The KBA Group expands its extensive portfolio for packaging customers in print finishing with the acquisition of the die-cutter manufacturer based in Barcelona. Iberica with some 60 staff produces medium and large-format flatbed die-cutters for board and corrugated packaging. KBA has been active in this market successfully for some time with its presses. The takeover and integration of Iberica underscores the global KBA Group’s focus on growth markets and greatly improves the Spanish die-cutters’ growth prospects. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price or further details regarding the takeover. For the transaction OMGC has been advised by Fredericks Michael & Co. Read more ...

2016-07-06 10:48Oosterhout, 6 July 2016 – The Dutch specialist in measurement and control equipment for the printing industry, Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC), has received a new order from Omani Establishment for Press, Printing, Publishing and Distribution L.L.C. in Oman. QIPC will be responsible for installing an mRC-3D system for colour register in its plant, based in the Omani capital of Muscat. Omani Establishment decided to invest in colour register because it now wants to focus its efforts increasingly on commercial products, alongside its newspaper-printing activities. Read more ...

The International Color Quality Club is the only worldwide printing quality competition for newspapers and magazines. Its goal is to improve the quality of reproduction and printing in production, while also increasing competitiveness as well as training and motivating all personnel.

The Materials Management Database project was launched as a spinoff of the Newsprint and Newsink Guide. Today it is used by printers, pressroom foremen and technical management as an information source for facts and advice for dealing with the materials used in producing newspapers. Among other informaton you find the specification of the WAN-IFRA Bar Code for paper reels in this online database. Most of the entries in the database originate from the members of the Material Management Committee; some come from outside sources (as marked), after review and approval by the committee. This database is continually being updated and expanded. New entries will be marked with a label in red type.
