The World Printers Forum (WPF) is an organisation of newspaper printers and suppliers within WAN-IFRA. Its objective is to encourage innovation and productivity as well as product development that can be instrumental for publishers to exploit future oriented news media products. It promotes the power of print and the sustainability of print production.

    11.01.2017 – Die 1944 gegründete Gruppe Nice-Matin ist der größte Regionalzeitungsverlag im Südosten Frankreichs. Bei der Mediengruppe erscheinen 14 Publikationen, deren Verbreitungsgebiet sich über zwei Départements (Alpes-Maritimes und Var) erstreckt. Die Gruppe gibt die Tageszeitungen Nice-Matin, Var-Matin sowie Monaco-Matin heraus und druckt werktags jeweils 130.000 Exemplare und 180.000 zum Wochenende. Nachdem die Gruppe Nice-Matin im Mai 2014 Insolvenz anmelden musste, wurde sie in eine Genossenschaft im Eigentum der Mitarbeiter umgewandelt.     02.01.2017 – After three years as head of production for Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) and almost two years as managing director of KBA-Industrial Solutions AG & Co. KG, the group subsidiary spun-off from the parent company as an internal and external manufacturing services provider on 1st January 2015, Michael Kummert stepped down from his post on 31st December 2016 to seek new career challenges. With effect from 1st January 2017, his executive duties have passed to co-director Dr. Martin Kraus, who thus becomes sole managing director of KBA Industrial Solutions. Read more ...

    Oosterhout, 23 December 2016 – This year marks the start of a new partnership between Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC) and Alpha Enterprises, its representative in Egypt. QIPC, the Dutch specialist in measurement and control systems for the printing industry, has been focusing more intensely on the Egyptian market recently, and in Alpha Enterprises has found a partner who is as much at home in the Egyptian market as in the Dutch one.     20.12.2016 – Every week up to 250 000 daily newspapers are distributed from HerencoPress AB’s printing plant in Jönköping. In order to streamline and improve the pallet loading process, Herenco have decided to upgrade palletizing through installing a new SCP – Schur Compact Palletizer. With functions such as bundle centering and identification of bundle orientation, it will allow the optimization of the palletizer process in the future and it will keep possible disturbances to a minimum.     20.12.2016 – The QIPC – EAE Americas success story in the newspaper retrofit business continues unbroken. The company has just been chosen by The Kansas City Star in Kansas City, Missouri, to modernise the hardware and software of its EAE press systems as part of a major investment. The Star – which currently belongs to The McClatchy Company, the leading newspaper and Internet publisher – owns 4 KBA Commander web presses, which went into operation in 2006. The presses are arranged in two identical lines and comprise a total of 36 towers and 40 reelstands, as well as 2 single and 2 double folders. Most of the entries in the database originate from the members of the Material Management Committee; some come from outside sources (as marked), after review and approval by the committee.
