2017-05-31 11:48Oosterhout, 24 May 2017 – The existing ten-year collaboration between Centro Stampa Quotidiani (CSQ) and Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC) is about to be intensified. After having previously installed the IDS-3D system for automatic colour and dampening control on four towers of its Wifag OF370GTD printing press, CSQ has now placed an order for the same system on a further five towers. “The new order reflects the huge level of confidence in the system.” Read more ...

2017-05-23 14:00Würzburg, 23.05.2017 – In addition to a presentation by president and CEO Claus Bolza-Schünemann outlining the company’s favourable performance in 2016 and the first quarter of 2017 (see press releases of 22 March 2017 and 9 May 2017), details of the growth strategy being pur-sued by the broadly positioned printing press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) played a key role at the company’s 92nd annual general meeting, which was presided over by supervisory board chairman Dr Martin Hoyos. Further items on the agenda of the annual general meeting held at the Vogel Convention Center (VCC) in Würzburg included resolu-tions on the discharge of duties with regard to the members of the management and super-visory board, the election of a new member to the supervisory board and the creation of new authorised capital. The newspaper industry is under pressure globally. While in the West, decline of the newspaper has been rapid, in the East, newspapers will probably survive for longer. However, there are several pressures on the newspaper industry in the East as well – competition from digital readership, increasing input costs, reducing advertising spends, and so on. In such a scenario, it is important for newspaper industry players to collaborate to improve internal operational efficiencies across the industry. Through such an effort the overall industry will stand to benefit. With this objective in mind, an industry-wide benchmarking exercise was carried out to identify specific improvement opportunities across players. The result has been extremely encouraging. This report details out the methodology and findings of this benchmarking exercise.
